Maryland Science Center, National Aquarium in Baltimore Offer "Fridays After Five" Discount

The Maryland Science Center and the National Aquarium in Baltimore will offer a discount on admission prices after 5:00 pm on Fridays as part of the "Fridays After Five" promotion beginning September 8, 2006.

Each Friday in September from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, the Maryland Science Center and the National Aquarium will give Maryland residents a special buy-one admission, get one free offer in additional to the reduced ticket price of $8.00.

Every Friday evening from October 6, 2006 through March 30, 2007, all visitors to the Maryland Science Center and National Aquarium will be able to purchase tickets for $8.00.

Visitors to the Maryland Science Center and National Aquarium may purchase discounted tickets beginning at 5:00 pm. Admission to the Maryland Science Center includes the core museum experiences as well as one film in the St. John Properties IMAX Theater and a show in the Davis Planetarium. Tickets for the national touring exhibition are not included. National Aquarium admission includes the animals and habitats in the core aquarium experience, as well as those in the new Animal Planet Australia: Wild Extremes and Frogs! A Chorus of Colors exhibits. Fees may apply for special exhibits and shows.

"We want to make informal science education more accessible to as many people as possible," said Maryland Science Center president and CEO Van Reiner. "Fridays After Five provides local residents with a convenient opportunity to spend time with their families engaged in fun and educational activities."

The Maryland Science Center at Baltimore's Inner Harbor is visited by more than 550,000 people each year. Popular exhibits include: Dinosaur Mysteries with more than a dozen full-size dinosaurs and interactive paleontology activities; an exploration of the day in the life of the human body in Your Body: The Inside Story; and dozens of interactive experiments in Newton's Alley. Other popular attractions in the museum include the Kids Room, the five-story St. John Properties IMAX Theater, and the world-famous Davis Planetarium.
