The Maryland Science Center will burst your bubble on Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17, 2005, when it celebrates grand globules of floating foam during Bubble Days. The two-day celebration will feature effervescent events, a big bubble blowing contest, and performances of “Bubblemania” by comic and bubble-artist Casey Carle. Bubble Days begin on Saturday, July 16, with a character breakfast from 10:00 am to noon. Children can join Astro, the Maryland Science Center mascot, along with costumed characters from the Baltimore Blast, Bowie Baysox, Discovery Channel, Frederick Keys, and National Aquarium in Baltimore for a light breakfast before exploring the Maryland Science Center. Visitors can bounce by the Big Bubble Blowing Contest throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday on the Inner Harbor Promenade to compete to see who can blow Baltimore’s best bubble. Bubble Days will also feature comic and “bubble-ologist” Casey Carle and his “Bubblemania” show. The show includes balancing bubbles, bubble hats, bubble jewelry, square bubbles, and bubbles by request as Carle takes cues from the audience to blow bubbles with everything from shoes to stuffed animals and food items. Carle will perform “Bubblemania” three times daily on both Saturday and Sunday. The Maryland Science Center at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is visited by more than 550,000 people each year. Popular exhibits include: Dinosaur Mysteries which features more than a dozen full-size dinosaurs and interactive paleontology activities, an exploration of the day in the life of the human body in Your Body: The Inside Story, and add…dozens of interactive experiments in Newton’s Alley.
