SunWise Program

Gear up for summer with some great outdoor-themed activities. Luke Hall-Jordan of the EPA's SunWise program will answer our "burning" questions about the Sun's ultraviolet rays. He'll also demonstrate the organizations kits of UV-related classroom activities. Finally, especially for upper-level students, we'll introduce NASA and the Maryland Science Center's joint Citizen Science project to measure UV in your own schoolyard.

Hearing Science
Presented by Dr. Howard Francis
Johns Hopkins University

Dr. Howard Francis of Johns Hopkins University is a leading otolaryngologist. Dr. Francis is a "hearing surgeon" and researcher who investigates natural and mechanical ways to preserve and restore hearing. He will be discussing hearing science and engage us in the topic of hearing technology with a research update.

Shuttle Mission STS-118

Barbara Morgan, educator astronaut, will participate in NASA's upcoming shuttle mission, STS-118. Learn about STS-118 and the educational activities that will be available to teachers for use in their classrooms.
