Continuing Education Series Workshops
Unearth the ancient world of the dinosaurs, challenge the principles of physics, get sun smart and learn new tips and techniques for teaching science in your classroom. The Maryland Science Center is filled with innovative new educational opportunities for educators and students. Explore activities and new insights into creative exhibit floor exploration for students. Workshops include stipends!



Dinosaurs Alive

Spend a day examining dinosaurs, their origins, variety and evolution, and how they fit into the history of planet Earth. Engage in paleontology and fossil related activities appropriate for the classroom and hear presentations from scientists experienced in field and laboratory research to discover the latest information about these fascinating creatures. Find out how scientists interpret fossils to learn about creatures that lived long ago, highlighting the process of science and how scientists interpret fossil remains.

The day will include demonstrations in our Dinosaur Mysteries exhibit gallery and a screening of the IMAX film Dinosaurs Alive! 3D, co-produced by the Maryland Science Center. Lunch as well as a stipend of $100 will be provided to each participating teacher and we'll have door prizes including the use of Dino Trunks of activities, for your classroom. **Registration will open approximately 6 weeks before each workshop**

Teachers will learn to think about the questions of science, not just the answers, in a series of teacher workshops presented by the Maryland Science Center. For best results, the workshops should be done in order and are targeted at teachers of grades 4-9.

Each workshop includes lunch, parking reimbursement, a $50 stipend for each teacher, a 3.5 hour training session and a subject-based session with fun, hands-on activities that you can use in your classroom! For more information, please email teacherworkshop@marylandsciencecenter.org.
